Candy Cane Hearts

We love Christmas in our house.  But having a young baby and still being surrounded by boxes and building work (I know, I know – you thought I’d be organised by now – me too!), we’re struggling to find the time to be creative.

So these super sweet candy cane chocolates gave us way to create something yummy without creating too much work for ourselves.

You Will Need

Candy canes (any size)

White chocolate

Milk chocolate

Dark chocolate

Sprinkles and toppings such as salt flakes, silver balls and crushed candy canes.

Method

  • Line some baking sheets
  • Arrange your unwrapped candycanes in to love heart shapes
  • Bake in a medium oven for just a couple of minutes until the candy canes have softened.  Do not leave them unattended as they will burn easily
  • Carefully (they’re hot!) squeeze the ends of the candy canes together
  • Allow the candy canes to cool
  • In the meantime, melt the chocolate either in the microwave or with a bain-marie
  • Carefully spoon melted chocolate in to the centre of each loveheart
  • Finish with your choice of toppings or sprinkles
  • Allow the chocolate to set completely

Apart from the hot bit where you have to squeeze the candy canes, Dorothy was able to make these traeats by herself and wouldn’t these make a great gift.  Or perhaps an unusual treat to leave out for Father Christmas on Christmas Eve.

Love Rachel ❤️
