It can sometimes be hard to keep children entertained. Especially during the Summer holidays when the days are looking and everything is expensive.
So I try hard to come up with free activities that keep my little one moving, exploring and (inadvertently) learning. This is a great one.
All you need is chalk.
Basically you draw the outline of a shape or letter and ask your child to find small objects to place on the outline.
You could spell out words or draw large pictures. You could make the game a little more challenging by specifying colours.
This is a great activity for a trip to the park or woodlands, but it’s just as much fun in a back garden, or even inside on a rainy day.
