Review – Bump Tea

My 3rd pregnancy came as a bit of a surprise for most of my friends. But I expect that none were more surprised than those who were around the first time…22 years ago, when I was at sixth form!

One of those friends, was the lovely Natalie.  She was one of my biggest supporters during that challenging time, and it was Natalie who connected me with Bump Tea, since it was created by her sweet sister in law Hannah.

The list of things I shouldn’t eat or drink during pregnancy seems to grow by the day and there is so much conflicting advice out there.  No shellfish, smelly cheese or alcohol.  No rare meat, pate or McDonalds milkshake.  There are restrictions on medicine and even some health foods are advised against.  My Google search history is just a list of variations of the same question – ‘can I eat *** when pregnant?’.  It’s easy to feel a little out of balance when your usual treats, pick me ups or wind down options are off the table.  I’ve spent a lot of time pondering alternatives and was thrilled to be introduced to these ones!

Bump Tea offer a collection of tea blends made specifically for use during pregnancy and afterwards, in the often overlooked 4th trimester.  I absolutely jumped at the chance to review them, not only because of the friendly connection, but because I love herbal teas and have been a little fearful to blend my own while expecting.

Safe slurping at every stage

I received a gorgeous ‘brown paper package, tied up with string’ and inside was a box with three tins of tea all.carefully blended for the needs and wants of a mum in her 2nd trimester.  But my parcel also contained an unexpected treat of a little glass tea pot ♥️

Mint Harmony – this tea has a really moreish, earthy flavour.  Before I tried it, I couldn’t imagine how this flavour could be calming as I always think of mint as being refreshing.  But the blend soothed my senses and I definitely slept better after enjoying a cup.

Fresh and Fruity – this has a lovely light fruity flavour and contains an array of fruity ingredients, all chosen to boost energy and immunity.  Something I really need at the moment since everyone seems to have the lurgy and my immune system has already wound down for the Christmas break!

Chocolate Dream – what a treat! I’ll be lucky if I get to drink much more of this one as the rest of the family are likely to spirit ut away by the pint once they smell it! Chocolate dream smells like a chocolate orange and tastes incredible.  A lovely drink for a chilly day.

The tea blends arrive in metal canisters that just look and feel so high quality that we intend to keep them for storage afterwards.  And the traditional, eco-friendly packaging really brought out the Maria Von Trap in me 😊  If you’re looking for a treat for yourself or for a beloved, pregnant, tea drinker, I’d definitely recommend giving Bump Tea a look.

Love Rachel ❤️

N.B. I was sent the tea as a gift. My opinions are absolutely honest – it’s a fantastic product!
